Laser Therapy at BridgeMill Animal Hospital in Canton, GA

Laser Therapy, formally known as Photobiomodulation, is a painless way to help your pet feel less pain, reduce swelling, and heal more quickly.

Laser Therapy is used by collegiate and professional athletes. Additionally, you or someone you know may have had a laser therapy treatment at your chiropractor’s or physical therapist’s office.

 During your pet’s treatment,

everyone, including your pet, must be wearing protective eyewear. You can see the laser emitting a red light.

Your pet may feel a nice warming sensation on their fur and skin. Generally, pets become more relaxed as the treatment continues because the laser doesn’t cause any pain. The important effect is what is happening within the cells.

The photons from the laser are absorbed by the cells within the target tissue. The energy in the photons is absorbed by chromophores within the cells. This absorbed energy is then delivered to the metabolic process. This starts a chain of reactions to increase the speed of healing, as well as reduce pain and swelling.

Ashley is certified in Laser Therapy.

Her main goal is to help your pet have the best experience – with the laser treatment and its comfortability.

She is available from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.

She has always loved animals, but she first focused her career on human healthcare. She earned a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, and then became a licensed massage therapist. In 2018, she began working at a shelter in Colorado while running a massage business on the side. She absolutely loved working at the shelter! Her bachelor's in healthcare administration helped her to better understand medical issues with the animals, and she calmed the shy and nervous dogs with neck massages.

She will be attending canine massage school in June. After she is certified, she will also be performing massage at BridgeMill Animal Hospital!

Please call us with any questions, concerns and/or compliments regarding your pets’ Laser Therapy experience at BridgeMill Animal Hospital.
