Our Veterinary Healthcare Team:

Brandee began her career in the veterinary field in 2012 with a focus to build relationships with clients and their pets on a one-by-one basis. She believes in creating a unique veterinary experience where patients receive the highest standard of medical care in an atmosphere that both humans and pets feel welcomed, informed, and safe.  Brandee is a natural leader and one who does so with clear goals, genuine authenticity, quick wit and a spring in her step. She leads her team collaboratively by encouraging each member to continue to grow professionally, always make the client and their pet top priority, and work together to achieve that goal.

In 2017, Brandee achieved her CVPM (Certified Veterinary Practice Manager) status awarded by the VHMA (Veterinary Hospital Managers Association). This designation is known and recognized as the highest level of certification for professional veterinary managers and one that only 566 veterinary practice managers have nationwide.

Brandee shares a home with her sister Ashley, and four serendipitously lucky cats, “Cleo”, “Gracie”, “Jack” & “Lucy”.

When she isn’t working, Brandee enjoys jet skiing, riding motorcycles, hiking, and relaxing with family and friends with her boyfriend, Mick.

Kathy Alvey was working as a software support contractor for IBM when she met Dr. Chris Alvey in 1991.  That is when she found her love for veterinary medicine (and, of course, Dr. Alvey!) and decided to make a career change to the veterinary field.  Kathy and Dr. Alvey have 2 children (Madison and Jake) and 6 fur babies (4 dogs and 2 cats).  Their home is full of love and hair!

Kathy loves boating and the beach, where she finds time to relax and enjoy the sun. "Even a rainy day is a good day at the beach."

Crystal is BridgeMill Animal Hospital's lead technician and has over 20 years of experience and joined our hospital when we opened in 2004. She also offers pet sitting services. Her areas of interest are surgical procedures and dentistry. She has two beautiful children, Gwendolyn and Katelyn. She has a Pug named Owsley and 2 cats.

Jeanie has been a member of the BridgeMill Animal Hospital Reception Team since its inception in March 2004. She has over 28 years of experience in the veterinary industry. Jeanie lives in Woodstock with her husband. Their son is a UGA graduate and loves to travel. She adores her dogs and cats.

Courtney is an Award Winning Senior Groomer who joined our team in the Spring of 2009. She graduated from Nanhall Grooming School in 2000. She specializes in breed cuts and enjoys working with cats.  Courtney lives in Jasper with her husband, two children and a dog and cat.

Nikki moved to Georgia in March 2011. She has a love of Boston terriers and has raised and shown them all of her life. She has 2 Boston Terriers named Phoebe and Phillip. She has been a veterinary assistant since 1992 and has a strong interest in emergency/critical care medicine as well as being well versed in the area of laboratory diagnostics. Nikki oversees our reception team and currently works full time for BridgeMill Animal Hospital as well as part time for an animal emergency hospital in Decatur, GA.

Maddie joined BridgeMill family April 2019. She grew up loving to watch her veterinarian grandpa take care of animals and listening to his cool stories of being a vet. She eventually went on to work at his animal hospital before moving back home to Georgia and coming to BridgeMill.

She loves a good laugh, sweet pets, wake surfing, and pretty much any outdoor activity! She is attending BYU-I, majoring in Exercise Science so she can eventually go on to get her degree in Occupational Therapy!

Caitlin has been working here with us at BridgeMill since July 2017 as a Veterinary Assistant and one of our social media supervisors. They have lived in Georgia their entire life and has grown up around animals, especially cats. They are currently attending Kennesaw State University majoring in cultural anthropology. Caitlin enjoys reading, crocheting, hiking, and spending time with their cat, Pixie. Pixie isn't the only animal in the house, however. Caitlin also has two more cats named Riley and Eliza, a min pin named Finn, several tanks of fish, and a day gecko named Jade.

McKenzie has happily been a member of the BridgeMill team since the beginning of 2018. She started her journey with us after graduating in 2017 with an Animal Science degree from the University of Georgia—go dawgs! She has plans of attending veterinary school later this year, but in the meantime, is enthusiastically gaining as much experience as she can working as a veterinary assistant here with us. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends and her sweet blue tick coonhound, Walter.

Michelle is a Certified Veterinary Technician at BridgeMill Animal Hospital.  Michelle is a Georgia native, but lived in Colorado for the past 10 years, moving back to Georgia in 2018.  Michelle graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in 2010, with an Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology, and Colorado Mountain College in 2015, with a Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability Studies.  Her passions in veterinary medicine include dentistry and alternative medicine, such as Laser therapy.  In her spare time Michelle enjoys traveling, snowboarding with her boyfriend, and hiking with her dog, Nesta!

Madison Alvey is the daughter of Dr. Chris and Kathy Alvey and cultivated her love for veterinary medicine while growing up at BridgeMill Animal Hospital. She is now in vet school at UGA and is expecting to graduate in the Spring of 2021. When she is not at school in Athens, Madison comes home to continue building her veterinary skills and knowledge. "BridgeMill Animal Hospital has been home for as long as I can remember and now it is a great opportunity to apply what I have learned in school in a place where I feel comfortable."

At home, Madison has a female yellow lab named Padme, who always reminds her when it's dinner time. Three-year-old Padme loves playing with a laser, chasing frogs and swimming in anything bigger than a puddle. She keeps Madison busy and sane, all at the same time.

Aubrey  is a senior at LSU studying animal sciences. She hopes to become a veterinarian and open her own practice either in Georgia or Louisiana. She has a puppy miniature Australian shepherd named Roux and a miniature dachshund named Angel.

Sarah is on the kennel tech team and is a second year student at Kennesaw State University, pursuing a degree in Animal Behavior and Psychology. She has always had a passion for animals and strives to keep them a big part of her life.

She enjoys going to Braves games, spending time outdoors, and hiking with her two dogs Dixie and Libby.

Katie helped to train service dogs for a nonprofit organization in Wilmington, NC. She then worked at a luxury boarding facility in Pawleys Island, SC where she cared for and helped to train dogs. She moved to Georgia in the Spring of 2018.

She has two rescue dogs, Thor and Kitty, who she loves to take for hikes or other adventures. She loves to combine her love for dogs with her love of photography.

Billie Jo began her career in the veterinary field in 2012, gaining experience and knowledge in all aspects of a clinic. She started working with animals in 2003 where she was an Animal Control Officer for over 8 years before moving out of state. After returning to Georgia, she knew her heart belonged to the animals.

Billie Jo loves taking trips with her husband, and spending time with family and taking their 5 furkids Gracie (Golden Mix rescue), Dozer, (Rottweiler mix rescue), Katniss (Mal mix rescue), Koda (Belgian mal/dutch shepherd mix), and Kevin (Belgian mal/dutch shepherd mix) to the beach.

Jeff is awesome!

Pistachio is our hospital cat. He is in charge of all "cat" scans. His daily antics keep us all in good spirits.
