Our Veterinary Healthcare Team:

Kathy Alvey has over 20 years of veterinary experience after meeting her husband Dr. Chris Alvey. She worked at IBM as a contractor in software support. She has a degree in Data Processing and 10 years work experience in that field. Kathy and Dr. Alvey have two children; Madison and Jake. They also have 4 dogs; Alley, LuLu, Bogey, LeRoy and 2 cats; Cartman and Aubie. They often call their home the Alvey Animal House. 

Crystal is BridgeMill Animal Hospital's lead technician and has over 20 years of experience and joined our hospital when we opened in 2004. She also offers pet sitting services. Her areas of interest are surgical procedures and dentistry. She has two beautiful children, Gwendolyn and Katelyn. She has a Pug named Owsley and 2 cats.

Jeanie has been a member of the BridgeMill Animal Hospital Reception Team since its inception in March 2004. She has over 28 years of experience in the veterinary industry. Jeanie lives in Woodstock with her husband. Their son is a UGA graduate and loves to travel. She adores her dogs and cats. 

Courtney is an Award Winning Senior Groomer who joined our team in the Spring of 2009. She graduated from Nanhall Grooming School in 2000. She specializes in breed cuts and enjoys working with cats.  Courtney lives in Jasper with her husband, two children and a dog and cat.  

Nikki moved to Georgia in March 2011. She has a love of Boston terriers and has raised and shown them all of her life. She has 2 Boston Terriers named Phoebe and Phillip. She has been a veterinary assistant since 1992 and has a strong interest in emergency/critical care medicine as well as being well versed in the area of laboratory diagnostics. Nikki oversees our reception team and currently works full time for BridgeMill Animal Hospital as well as part time for an animal emergency hospital in Decatur, GA.


Caitlin is starting her career with us as a Veterinary Assistant. She grew up with several animals, and adores every cat she meets. She is currently attending Kennesaw State University getting a dual major in Musical Theater and Psychology. She enjoys spending her free time reading every biology book she gets her hands on. She currently has three cats, a dog, several fish, and a gecko at home with her family.

McKenzie has happily been a member of the BridgeMill team since the beginning of 2018. She started her journey with us after graduating in 2017 with an Animal Science degree from the University of Georgia—go dawgs! She has plans of attending veterinary school later this year, but in the meantime, is enthusiastically gaining as much experience as she can working as a veterinary assistant here with us. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends and her sweet blue tick coonhound, Walter. 

Michelle is a Certified Veterinary Technician at BridgeMill Animal Hospital.  Michelle is a Georgia native, but lived in Colorado for the past 10 years, moving back to Georgia in 2018.  Michelle graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in 2010, with an Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology, and Colorado Mountain College in 2015, with a Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability Studies.  Her passions in veterinary medicine include dentistry and alternative medicine, such as Laser therapy.  In her spare time Michelle enjoys traveling, snowboarding with her boyfriend, and hiking with her dog, Nesta!


Taylor has worked with animals for 5 years--volunteering at different animals shelters which kick started her passion of working with animals. She is currently enrolled at Penn Foster Online College for my Veterinary Tech Associates Degree. Her future goals is to work with wolves in a sanctuary. In her free time she enjoys being outdoors with her fiancé and two dogs, Maui (shihtzu) and Zena (blue heeler) or snuggled up watching movies with my two cats. (Ether and Spookers.
